Bio
Cita Sadeli CHELOVE is a multi-disciplined creative who straddles the street art, illustration, and interactive design worlds. Her work is a reflection of a multicultural background rooted in the tropical mysticism of Java, Indonesia and her youth growing up in the raw energy of 1980’s Washington DC streets.
Cita is passionate about presenting images from society’s esoteric subcultures and marginalized communities through bold graphic pieces often including scenes from nature, ancient cultures, fashion, and moments on the dance floor or street. She is also drawn to celebrating local neighborhoods, weaving iconic images of the past and present into colorful and vibrant pieces. Her work often urges the viewer to examine the past – a place or culture’s roots and beginnings.
